Many of the Norwegian traditional dishes is accompanied with the flatbread. Our flatbreads are a natural part of this diversity. We are one of the country’s most traditional flatbread producers with long traditions and heritage.
Potato flatbread is tasty and easy to eat – addictive someone will say! Especially with real butter on. Flatbread baking is craftsmanship. In the past, the flatbread was as important to the Norwegian food tradition as the baguette is for the French or the rice is to the Asians. And no one was more important than the bakers going from farm to farm in the old days to provide flatbread and dried bisquits for storage through the hard winters.
Holmen Crisp has taken over this task in of our time. In the old sagas and folk tales, the flatbread is included as part of the stories. We give new life to old food traditions. Our flatbread has its roots from Toten and and the regions surrounding the lake Mjøsa.
